The inaugural season of the CLUTCH BR League, commonly known as 'Brasileirão', will kick off this Monday, with six teams in action in this invitational league.
Running from September 9 through November 20, the first season of the Brasileirão will see six of the best teams currently residing in Brazil square off in best-of-two clashes on Mondays and Wednesdays at Arena BBL, in São Paulo.
The first season has been divided into two splits, with the top two sides of the first split securing spots at the ESL LA League Season 5 Finals. On top of the league's grand prize of over $6,000, teams will also fight for four spots at the Gamers Club Masters IV, one of the biggest LAN events of the year in Brazil.
The Brasileirão will be a measuring stick for all six teams, who will be putting their new rosters to the test. The arrival of two-time Major champion Lincoln "fnx" Lau to RED Canids drew the most attention in the off-season, but there were many other interesting moves, including Isurus bringing back Nabil "nbl" Aleua to replace star player Ignacio "meyern" Meyer, and Keyd signing a Portuguese player, ex-Giants member Joao "KILLDREAM" Ferreira.
